Skate Bay is a coastal area located three hours north of Sydney. The competition brief emphasized the visualization of a walkway that allows visitors to get close to the shoreline and view the ocean, while avoiding interference from massive rocks.

Instead of following the shoreline, the Interlacing Walkway is positioned partially above the ocean, serving as a sculptural piece that interacts with land, sea, and air.

The proposed walkway begins with two identical, independent rings: the upper deck and the lower deck. Corners of both rings are adjusted to allow users to climb up and down to different levels, offering various viewpoints of the coast. The two rings are bridged at their intersections, creating multiple circulation paths through the walkway. Users are free to choose their own routes. One of the rings is designed with ramps, while the other features staircases, ensuring accessibility and a varied walking experience.
